Etymology
From Old Tefrian fš (/veš/), from Proto-Tephricheic *weš, from Proto-Asisic *wišḫ. Cognate with West Achissari وس (wes), East Achissari وس (wes), Vancian vih, Bulusic í, Nyongom ԁих (đih), Dovasene вис (vis), and Khbirye ზაშ (zaš), also distantly related to descendants of Proto-Indo-European *swéḱs, such as English six, French six, Irish sé, Greek έξι (éxi), Russian шесть (šestʹ), and Armenian վեց (vecʻ), related to descendants of Proto-Kartvelian *eks₁w-, such as Georgian ექვსი (ekvsi) and Laz აში (aşi), and may extremely disputedly be further distantly related to descendants of Proto-Northwest Caucasian *s-xʷǝ, such as Abaza цба (cba), Abkhaz фба (fba), and Ubykh š́xǝ.
