Usage notes
- -na is the contracted form due to syncope, occurs usually when preceded by a sonorant.
- Sense 2 is preferred in Modern Carnian, replacing the previous -sa and -ca which are now considered archaic and derogatory due to diminutive connotations.
- Sense 2 is derived from Proto-Slavic *-yni and thus does not cause palatalization of the preceding consonant.
