Carnian
Etymology
Inherited from Late Old Carnian huei ("cock, dick"), from Proto-Slavic *xujь. The original vulgar meaning became obsolete, being replaced by cuers; the word underwent semantic bleaching and survives with an abstract meaning, as well as in idiomatic expressions.
