Skundavisk
Etymology
From Middle Skundavisk laten, from Old Skundavisk lātan, lētan, from Halmisk ᛚᛖᛏᚨᚾ (lētan), from Proto-Germanic *lētaną. The shortening of the /a/ vowel during the late times of Old Skundavisk is irregular and explains why the modern form is not *låten as it normally would be.
