Etymology

Most probably borrowed from Old Church Slavonic школа (škola) or Latin schola (hence the Middle Gothevian variants škòla (škɔ́la) and škóla (škóla)), and was later influenced by Greek σχολή (scholí). Compare Bulgarian школа (škola), Romanian școală and Serbo-Croatian школа (škola).
