The Flaxilþrand (English [flæksɪlθɹænd]) Dialect is a dialect of Knašta spoken in and around the city of Flaxilþrand, Corstekistan, which is the capital city. Because of this, it is the most prestigious dialect of the language, and is used by all television and radio broadcasts across the country.
Distinguishing Features
Unlike many rural dialects, the Flaxilþrand Dialect lacks the bilabial trill. Instead, the letter ŗ represents the sound [pr].
Also unlike many dialects, the Flaxtilþrand Dialect preserves the vowel [æ]. In most other dialects it has merged with [a] or been replaced by [ɛ].
