Linguifex:Arbitration/Requests

A request for arbitration is the last step of dispute resolution on Linguifex. The Owner-in-Council of the Website, Chrysophylax, will consider cases deemed to be of great importance to the well-being of the website and may proceed; This is the last and final level of dispute resolution and things are taken extremely serious.

  • Arbitration is not a legal process: With no fixed approaches to problems, all actions, conduct, and relevant evidence may be taken into account. A person's general manner, past actions, and the impressions of them by reasonable people will be used to guide the arbitrators into establishing how best to soothe the dispute.
  • Arbitration is intended to serve Linguifex: The arbiter focuses on the risk and benefits for the future, not on past issues. Arbitration aims to find the best way to move users beyond the dispute. For this reason, the Owner-in-Council is more likely to consider if a user can change, or what restrictions would be of benefit to the project, than on who said what in the past.

NB:

You must comment only in your own section. To respond to a statement or remark by another editor, do so at the bottom of your section. Be professional. Comments that are intended to provoke a negative reaction or that are uncivil are completely unhelpful. In the event that a thread becomes heated, take a brief keyboard break and step away. Be succinct. Long, rambling contributions are less effective. Substantiate your submissions with diffs or links. If your comment is not productive, do not press "save." Discussions at arbitration requests are typically heated, so be clueful when contributing.
