Avalonian has a total of 8 vowels, 4 monophthongs and 4 diphthongs. According to the World Atlas of Lanɡuaɡe Structures Avalonian has 4 vowel qualities which is a small inventory. Avalonian has a consonant to vowel quality ratio of 6.75 which according to WALS is  a high ratio. Avalonian is unusual for not possessing any low vowels such as /a/.
