Luthic is based on Gothic, but I also got some inspirations from West Germanic, such as the small Langobardic corpus we have available and the reconstructed Frankish lemmata, Icelandic was also an inspiration for me, as I always enjoyed this idea of a conserved language that retains many archaic characteristics (i.e. Lithuanian, Icelandic, Faroese). My other ideas came from general Romance languages, such as my mother tongues (Italian and Portuguese). Luthic is not an easy language to be learnt, it has cases, genders, a large phonology, but some of my inspiration also came from [[Avendonian]], who’s pretty much Luthic’s opposite, as it’s way simpler, yet similar, and I had an easy time understanding Avendonian by just speaking Italian fluently and having advanced knowledge in German and English. | |||
