Etymology
The name Ganglais is unknown but there are a few theories to it:
- The name comes from Proto-Germanic *gangaz meaning "way" or "road and *līþaz meaning "pertaining to", but would wield something like **Ganglice
The name Ventalîque might have come from Latin Vandalus, ultimately from Proto-Germanic *wandilaz and the Proto-Germanic suffix *-iskaz, making a possible Proto-Germanic word **wandiliskaz, meaning "Pertaining to the Vandals, or wanderers", an equivalent to English Vandalish.
