Sound changes across the Lexicon
There were different eras of lexification:
The initial simple era
Lexifying phonology:
- p t s c k
- m n g
- w l y
The era where aspirates attempted to invade the language
- ph th kh are reanalysed as sequences of (p,t,k)-h, the misinterpreted (p,t,k) "prefix" is dropped leaving just /h/
- m n ng are tentatively borrowed as b d g
As for nasal finals...
They all ended up as -n (-m,-n) or Ṽ (-ng)
