The World and the Epires
The world is divided into different subdivisions, hereby known as epires (< Greek ἤπειρος).
Each epire may correspond to a contiguous stretch of land (e.g. a continent), to an area with a significant historical or cultural complex, or to some other arbitrary distinction.
The lands of Umdur
The peoples of the land of Umdur claim heritage from a mythical progenitor, Um. Um was said to bring many a diverse people together, but was slain by a member of the Ušite dynasty (of the Assites) as part of an coup to bring stability and protection to the people of the land. - The Kingdom of Ābšim (NW): prosperous kingdom well-stocked in bronze, and financed by gold, founded by the tribes of Āb.
- The Assite Empire (N, NE): a burgeoning empire, founded by King Uš and his son Uštandar. Ruled by Assites, has control over Banšim.. Occasionally called Uššim, either out or respect or disparagingly.
Center
- Cities of Mazugād: loosely associated cities, founded by the tribes of Mad.
East
- Cities of Adun: loosely associated cities, founded by the Adunites.
South
- Kingdom of Dāgšim (SW): mercantile kingdom, counterpart to the Northerly Abšim, founded by the tribes of Dāg. Alternatively called Nitwān.
- Kalšim (SE): unaffiliated tribes.
