Ganymede,[a] officially the Ganymede Republic,[b] is a country located on the Galilean moon of Ganymede, the largest moon in the Solar System. By claimed territory, it is the largest politically independent nation in the Solar System, claiming the entire surface area of Ganymede of 8.72×107 km2. However, the country only has a presence on about 4.36×106 km2 of it, or around 5% of the total surface area of Ganymede; this makes it slightly larger than the Earth country of India.
