Pomorian

Etymology

From Old Pomorian galwā, Proto-Balto-Slavic *galwāˀ. Cognate with Proto-Slavic *golva (earlier *galwā), Old Prussian galwā, Lithuanian, Latvian galva. Possibly from Proto-Indo-European *gʷol- ("spike, tip, peak") with a Proto-Balto-Slavic suffix *-wāˀ, so it probably meant "top of the body" then.
