Stress falls on one of the last three syllables of a word. If these three syllables include heavy syllable(s), the last heavy syllable is stressed. If there is no heavy syllable, the third last syllable is stressed.
 
If a word is less than three syllables, the last heavy syllable is stressed if present. Otherwise, the initial syllable is stress.
