Due in part to the prime location juxtaposed between a variety of environments, Valsatbat and its associated islands host a considerable amount of humanoid biodiversity in particular regarding its fauna. The Human-[[Verse:Sel/ZE-1b/Valsatbat/Elves|elf]] continuum (genus ''Homo'') has of course formed the majority of the cobalid population consistently since the beginning of the Neolithic, but native to the area are also all varieties of [[Verse:Sel/ZE-1b/Trollkin|trollkin]] (genus ''Speluncanus''), the remaining [[Verse:Sel/ZE-1b/Kobolds|kobolds]] (''Cobalus rusticus''), and even a number of transient [[Verse:Sel/ZE-1b/Nymphs/Nereids|nereid]] (''H. lympha maris'') settlements have been recorded.
