- Final -g causes diphthongisation
- weg > wei
- sag > såw
- lig > lij
- Long i/u diphthongise
- tijd > teid > taaid > tåid
- bruun > broun > braaun > bråun
- a and o before (coda?) r lengthen
- hert > hart > haart
- word/wurd > word > woord
- Medial th(d?) Lost in some wors
