Gothic wagjan, from ProtoGermanic wagjaną) and agentive suffix -iris, -aris (Middle Valthungian -(j)arīs, from Old Valthungian -(j)ārīs, from Griutungi -(j)ārīs; cf. Gothic -(j)āreis, from Latin -ārius).
