Are ''daya'' (midget) and ''daga'' (dog) related to each other?
I couldn't help but notice that both refer to small animate entities and have very similar "stems" if we remove the animate ending -a: {{small|dag- & day-}}.
Because it would be quite hilarious if there was a semantoderivationalinflectionalcognatesomething relationship between these two.

Etymologies

Are daya (midget) and daga (dog) related to each other? I couldn't help but notice that both refer to small animate entities and have very similar "stems" if we remove the animate ending -a: dag- & day-. Because it would be quite hilarious if there was a semantoderivationalinflectionalcognatesomething relationship between these two.
