Proto-Glaeglo-Hyudrontic

Etymology

Possibly related to *chawjɪ́G (blood) via *chaw-wáX (blood-tree, shavvak), as broken limbs of a variety of Collasucus trees were used by most GH peoples to make bows due to their favorable elastic qualities.

Pronunciation

Noun

*dɛcáw

  1. a bow comprised of only one type of wood, or generally a bow

Descendants

  • Proto-Hyudrontic: *däčav (self bow, or the ceremonious hanging of a murderer from a Collasucus tree)
  • Proto-Kana: *dɔɔkɔ́
