Etymology
Compound of čusna ‘to choose’, from Middle Valthungian kšjusn from Old Valthungian kjusan from Griutungi kiusan, cf. Gothic kiusan, from Proto-Germanic keusaną; and feminine nominalizer suffix -ins, from Middle Valthungian –īns, via Old Valthungian and Griutungi, cf. Gothic –eins, from Proto-Germanic –īniz, originally restricted to nominalization of Class 1 weak verbs only, but later applying to all verb classes.
