This article is a construction site. This project is currently undergoing significant construction and/or revamp. By all means, take a look around, thank you. |
The charts below show the way in which the International Phonetic Alphabet (IPA) represents Standard Izhkut and General Colonial pronunciations. English approximations are loose in some cases and are only intended to give a general idea of the pronunciation. For more information, see Help:IPA.
"SI" stands for Standard Izhkut while "GC" stands for General Colonial.[1]

- ^ And GameCube.
- ^ Standard /d/ becomes /ð/ before or after /i ɪ̯/ or /e ɨ̯/.
- ^ Colonial /d/ becomes /d͡ʒ/ before /ɹ ɹʷ/.
- ^ Jump up to: a b c The colonial phonemes /ɸ β ç/ are allophones of /f v h/(Standard /f v x (h)/) respectively before /l ɫ/.
- ^ Colonial /ɫ/ is an allophone of /l/ before /a u/ and in consonant clusters.
- ^ Standard /n̪/ is a coda allophone of /n/.
- ^ Standard /ɾʷ/ is an allophone of /ɾ/ before /u/. Colonial /ɹʷ/ holds the same purpose for /ɹ/.
- ^ Colonial /z/ becomes /ʒ/ before /i/. Also often phonetically spelt hemzhin in General Colonial.
- ^ Colonial /ə/ is a fairly common coda allophone of /e/.
- ^ Standard /o/ also lowers to /ɔ/ in the Pokht-influenced dialects.
