Pomorian

Alternative forms

akuno - Eastern dialects

Etymology

From Old Pomorian aks (“eye”) + the suffix -un-. Could be an early borrowing from Proto-Slavic (*okъno, earlier *akunan), because of differences in accentuation between Pomorian dialects, however it is disputed.

Pronunciation

/âː.kʊ.nɒ/

or /ɑ.kʊ.ˈnɒ̀/

Noun

ãkunå n (1st declension)

  1. window (opening in a building or a vehicle)
    'akunå auto - car window'
    lągta akuno - window frame
    jųto akunå - roof window
ględėti į akunå - to look out of a window
stuba sų plastum akunum - room with a wide window
