Personal welcome

Welcome to Linguifex! There seems to be a slight problem with your code! Let me see if I can fix it! :D   Waahlis 16:40, 7 January 2013 (CET)

I found the problem! The Linguifex wiki does not support the <tr>/<th> very well, so we'd appreciate if you used another construction! The Tjoc page has an excellent alphabet display! Do tell if you need any help! :D Sincerely,   Waahlis 16:44, 7 January 2013 (CET)

Hi Waahlis! I'm SPARTAN-004, from the DA Conlang group. Thanks for the heads-up on the table formatting, I've been struggling with it all day because I'm quite new to HTML editing. :) Darthme (talk) 03:44, 8 January 2013 (CET)Darthme

Oh yes, welcome! :D I'm so glad someone's come here instead of the other way around for a change! :P Yes, the html is something to get used to, but a tip is if you start by copying and pasting, it'll get you far!

Also, another convention on the wiki, is that we try to keep conversations on one talk page, the one where started! :p You didn't do anything wrong by messaging me (except that I advise you to start a new topic next time!) but I moved your message here for ease of reading!

Need any help with anything? :)   Waahlis 07:50, 8 January 2013 (CET)

Not at the moment, but if I do, I'll let you know, either through DA or here. Darthme (talk) 14:07, 8 January 2013 (CET)Darthme

Yes, do so. I'm available on both sites! :)   Waahlis 17:25, 8 January 2013 (CET)

Imperial Greeting

A greeting from me, glad to finally see someone who isn't a bot! :D   Emperor Zelos 19:39, 8 January 2013 (CET)

Thanks! I'm glad I found this place! Darthme (talk) 20:16, 8 January 2013 (CET)Darthme

Personal greeting

Welcome aboard! If you need help with anything just give me a poke. I'm the oddjob admin who does all sorts of odd jobs (hence the moniker). Looking forward to having you here!   Chrysophylax 19:55, 8 January 2013 (CET)

Thanks! I look foward to being able to lay out all of my conlangs in a sensible way! :P Darthme (talk) 20:15, 8 January 2013 (CET)Darthme

Ichtyological greeting

Hi! I'm just messing with Zelos. :P   Waahlis 20:34, 8 January 2013 (CET)

Norwegian-inspired? Just ask if you want any help - I, Chrysophylax and Zelos are all Swedish! :D   Waahlis 19:00, 10 January 2013 (CET)

It is Scandinavian-inspired, but not necessarily based off of any single one of those languages. I'm currently learning Danish for an exchange trip next year, although I was supposed to go to Norway, so I possess a knowledge of both of those languages. (My first choice was Norway, but there must have been some problem, i.e, there wasn't a host family, so I got put in my second choice, Denmark) I don't really know too much about Swedish beyond what can be gleaned from having knowledge of the other two. Darthme (talk) 19:53, 10 January 2013 (CET)Darthme

Skip the traitors (norweigians) and potatoes (danish) and go swedish! :D The rulers of scandinavia!

Kidding aside, I really enjoy how it is turning out :)   Emperor Zelos 20:29, 10 January 2013 (CET)

Hvad dejligt! Da må du tale med mig! Dansk ligner svensk i næsten alle fald!   Waahlis 21:15, 10 January 2013 (CET)

Danska är degenererad svenska! :P   Emperor Zelos 21:25, 10 January 2013 (CET)

Men jeg må lære dansk! (Although I do agree with you that the danes speak oddly. I like Norwegian better than Danish) Darthme (talk) 21:39, 10 January 2013 (CET)Darthme

Second Linguifex Relay

Miess osstalling iss gimakt, jiess burrt iss giginnt! --Dē Graut Bʉr (talk) 11:21, 23 November 2013 (CET)

Gloss

I'm missing a gloss for; "pair moren baguje de arase subedej". Moren is on there, Pair might be a form of pra [though that would be odd] but the rest definitely isn't covered.

Similarly, while I think I can guess the root of "deren", I don't see any simple gloss that would confirm it for me.

"é" "ati" and "tero" recieve no gloss as far as I can tell.

-Fauxlosophe (talk) 16:47, 24 November 2013 (CET)

If he doesn't answer before your time's up, just guess - that'll serve the game's purpose! ^^   Waahlis 20:49, 24 November 2013 (CET)

Ej, sorry! Will add it immediately, here and on the original. Darthme (talk) 21:36, 24 November 2013 (CET)

Ok, so, é was a typo, it was supposed to be és but i didn't realize it and left it because és was already mentioned. (é would be the second person present version)

The others were just human error. I forgot to proofread after spending all that time writing it up, mostly from scratch :P Darthme (talk) 21:54, 24 November 2013 (CET)

No worries, they're easy mistakes to make.

I recall I missed a few prepositions in the first relay that changed away the meaning from what I wanted. I'm just glad because there were a lot of question marks and a lot of what I had seemed really odd without the relevant words.

Cheers,

-Fauxlosophe (talk) 06:13, 25 November 2013 (CET)

Ausgislomtnē Osstalling

Sorry for the delays, I've had exams and to be honest the Tsan text didn't make particularly much sense either... Anyway, here is the Bearlandic text. I wish you good luck translating it! Dē Graut Bʉr (talk) 19:57, 28 February 2014 (CET)

Re: Buerkáns

Hellu! ^^ Yes, regarding Buerkáns; I do think it looks rather plausible. That includes the phonology, the conjugation and the declensions. I like the linking and voicing processes in word boundaries! What I do find rather peculiar is the word "áppel", in which I would have expected the /p/ to have been voiced, historically. A tip is that you try to work out the sound shifts from Proto-Germanic a bit more. Or you could say it's a loan word! ^^   Waahlis 19:06, 28 March 2014 (CET)

Well now that you say it, áppel does make more sense with a voiced 'p'. I think it's just the native English influence in me :P Thanks for the critique :) Darthme (talk) 22:11, 8 April 2014 (CEST)
