Apologies, I goofed when I was making an IPA template for the vowels in Nankôre.  Now when I go to the Templates page I see "Nankôre" but I don't see the name for the template, which is "Nankore_Vowels_IPA".  Could you please help me and remove "Nankôre" from the Templates page and replace it with "Nankore_Vowels_IPA"? I know I successfully created the template, because it appears on my conlang's page when I call the template.


[[File:Blank.png]] - Used for headers of certain categories, Linguifex-pages and conlangs. Administrator and policy buttons. I fill buttons like this one with a motif that suits its purpose.

Can you make a subcategory for my conlang Czecklish? I have three separate articles for it, and it's getting hard to manage them. There will likely be three or four more articles concerning Czecklish in the future. I believe it would be more convenient for Linguifex visitors and users to view Czecklish and its various articles if it had a subcategory, like Khaz or Valian.

:I was already paying a webhosting fee for pretty much what amounted to my e-mail accounts and a small underdeveloped page with a few lines in Dhannua. So I had a lot of space and I thought, with wikkii down and wikia-awful ads/weird layout I figured I'd rather start something on my own, whose integrity and up-keep I myself could control. :P Then I spent some time considering names with -wiki until I figured linguifex was nicer (in my ears). : Yeah, there are a lot of mini-templates that are used in larger templates that are used in other templates. All to get the wiki-style infobox to work. I'm following the list on [http://www.etcwiki.org/wiki/Install_infobox ETCWiki] which contains guides to setting up things properly and yeah. Unfortunately, the guide recommends you start with the more complex templates first XD and then the ones that get the rest to work. Sigh.

Hi. A while ago a user on Frathwiki started a project to try and rescue info about conlangs that had been stored on Langmaker in the 2000s, gone down with it but was retrievable via the Web Archive copies of Langmaker. They got so far then drifted off. I'm volunteering to start it again, and I also want to make my own (privately run but publicly accessible) list of the world's conlangs (probably in spreadsheet and searchable database form). I want to combine the jobs to reduce work time; I also think it would be good to have the same info in different places (as what was so unfortunate about Langmaker going down was so much of its info was not stored elsewhere). So I was wondering, would you be interested in allowing similar records of such langs here? I'm guessing not on account of your "non-sufficient content/long inactivity" deletion rule plus high style standards etc. However even if not how about a single page (/multiple if running over) with a name and barest details? I'd be prepared to do all the work, although help would certainly be appreciated. :)

Hi! I've been tinkering around lately with [[:Category:Ayeri lemmas|Ayeri entries]]. As you probably know, Ayeri is written in this quite-Brahmic script called ''Tahano Hikamu''. The creator of Ayeri, Carsten Becker, created a font for it and [https://github.com/carbeck/tagatibookg released it]. I've been wondering if it'd be possible for you or any administrator to add this font to Linguifex so I can use it. Since it's based on SIL Graphite engine, the font declaration must use the .ttf file, not .woff. Thanks! Anyhow, Automatic Board Welcome seems to depend on SocialProfile which currently does not work with our MediaWiki version. We would have to downgrade the whole wiki to get SocialProfile (and by extension Automatic Board welcome) to work in the current state of matters. Unfortunately, until https://bugzilla.wikimedia.org/show_bug.cgi?id=29984 is fixed, I'm not sure there's much that I can do regarding this feature. =\

Oh no, not fully centred! I mispoke, dear Waahlis. What I meant is that the current layout seems a tad empty in the centre area and considering that personally, my eyes kind of land there, it feels a bit like wasted screen estate. I'm also a bit curious regarding the big buttons we have. They do not seem to align properly on my screen at least and it's kind of bothering me, to be honest. Two in line and one… off.

They're uncompressed sound files,i.e. raw sound data. Lots of space eating. Keeping them on file might itself not be too bad (since I have a lot of hard drive space for Linguifex) but once you factor in the uploading/downloading it might quickly eat up the bandwidth I have. :\

Hello. I seem to be unable to change the color of my conlang's infobox, is there a trick to it?

Hi Chrysophylax,

Apologies, I goofed when I was making an IPA template for the vowels in Nankôre. Now when I go to the Templates page I see "Nankôre" but I don't see the name for the template, which is "Nankore_Vowels_IPA". Could you please help me and remove "Nankôre" from the Templates page and replace it with "Nankore_Vowels_IPA"? I know I successfully created the template, because it appears on my conlang's page when I call the template.

Subcategory for Czecklish

Can you make a subcategory for my conlang Czecklish? I have three separate articles for it, and it's getting hard to manage them. There will likely be three or four more articles concerning Czecklish in the future. I believe it would be more convenient for Linguifex visitors and users to view Czecklish and its various articles if it had a subcategory, like Khaz or Valian.

Infobox language

So, I recently noticed that I'm prevented from editing templates that're transcluded on the main page, specifically Template:Infobox language and its subpages, and I was wondering either 1. if there's a way to work around this, 2. if you could turn-off cascading for the main page, or 3. if I could be given permission to edit these pages? Deletion of Template:LangAbb

Template:LangAbb was deleted, breaking functionality of Template:Etym, which is used in various Contionary entries. Deletion of an image and changing of a page title

Hello,

I'm quite new here in Linguifex and I did a (or two) mistake(s). 1. At updating a image which shows ,,Zimâna Ħāwārî (translates to ,,Hawari language")" in my newly invented Ṭoňżeĝâyî script, it always shows the former version of the image where I set the direction so: top to bottom, right to left, even if it should be left to right. To fix that issue, I would like to let it be deleted, and I don't know how one does it. 2. This mistake is less important to fix: Instead of giving my article title the name ,,Hawari language" I just wrote ,,Hawari". If possible, would you be able to change it?

Lost Conlangs

Hi. A while ago a user on Frathwiki started a project to try and rescue info about conlangs that had been stored on Langmaker in the 2000s, gone down with it but was retrievable via the Web Archive copies of Langmaker. They got so far then drifted off. I'm volunteering to start it again, and I also want to make my own (privately run but publicly accessible) list of the world's conlangs (probably in spreadsheet and searchable database form). I want to combine the jobs to reduce work time; I also think it would be good to have the same info in different places (as what was so unfortunate about Langmaker going down was so much of its info was not stored elsewhere). So I was wondering, would you be interested in allowing similar records of such langs here? I'm guessing not on account of your "non-sufficient content/long inactivity" deletion rule plus high style standards etc. However even if not how about a single page (/multiple if running over) with a name and barest details? Dear Chrysophylax, I have a quite important question about the website itself. Well, whenever I (it is also not only me) open the site from Discord, I get a warning saying that this website may steal personal or financial information and thus should be closed. Do you know why the warning appears?

Tahano Hikamu font

Hi! I've been tinkering around lately with Ayeri entries. As you probably know, Ayeri is written in this quite-Brahmic script called Tahano Hikamu. The creator of Ayeri, Carsten Becker, created a font for it and released it. I've been wondering if it'd be possible for you or any administrator to add this font to Linguifex so I can use it.
